Springtime is the season of renewal and fresh beginnings!
From the air we breathe, the water we drink to the food we eat, we are constantly being bombarded with toxins all year round. Our body is an incredible self-healing machine if we fuel it properly and cleanse regularly. At least two times per year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall is the ideal schedule for most. If you have multiple symptoms of toxicity like poor circulation, swelling, headaches, migraines, stress, anxiety, depression, allergies, poor skin, yeast, arthritis, fatigue, constipation, obesity, cellulite, sinus issues, gout, digestive disorders, cold/respiratory disorders, insomnia, bloating, and gas.
Then a Spring Cleanse may be just what your body needs this season!
Detoxification means to clear toxins from the body, mind and spirit by neutralizing or transforming them and clearing out all the excess.
Organs of detoxification are the liver, kidneys, skin, intestines and lungs.
Which all need to be supported in different ways.
Liver - think antioxidants like glutathione
Kidneys - think hydration like lots of water
Skin - think sweating like exercise
Intestines - think pooping like fiber
Lungs - think deep breathing like breath work
Spring is the time to release the weight of the winter, literally and figuratively. Winter is the downtime of our year. We usually slow down and hunker down indoors, especially during the colder weather and we generally move far less during this season. Toxins can build up, weight can increases and sluggishness and congestion can set in, in this damp, heavy season. As the days get longer and the mornings brighter along comes Spring with new life, new growth and new hope for transformation. As we shed our winter layers and take out our lighter coats we can also do the same with our physical body. Spring is nature's time to melt away the winter and bring new life, and it is our time to shed toxins and renew our vitality.
A few easy things to start cleansing the body today:
Drink warm lemon water upon rising.
Move your body daily, ideally sweat.
Move your bowels daily, ideally 2-3 times/day.
Eat more veggies, broth, soups and salads.
Eliminate processed foods.
Journal, meditate or practise mindful eating.
Heal the body . Quiet the mind . Listen for the souls whisper
Health is an announcement of agreement between your body, mind and spirit. Honor your body, keep it in good shape. When you are not healthy, look to see which parts of you disagree. Your body will demonstrate the truth to you. Notice what it is showing you, listen to what it is saying.
