Our Story

Sheena

Holistic Nutritionist & Health Coach

Marni

Yoga & Mindfulness Instructor

I am a mother of 2, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend and a health coach! I am a lover of natural health and hold the strong belief that that body can self heal. You could easily find me eating chocolate watching movies with my family, pulling angel cards and meditating, walking my dogs or diving deeper into health books and podcasts!

Shortly after my daughter was born in 2012 I was diagnosed with Celiac disease, along with some other issues too... all hormone related and all closely linked to stress.  I was trying to do so much and be so much it was exhausting and disease prompting.  At that time I had to change some obvious factors, like eliminating gluten and I had to start on prescription medication for my thyroid. This was around the time I was introduced to Bulletproof Coffee.

I was still working as a nurse at this time and for any nurses out there, you know how much we love and rely on our coffee! This was an absolute game changer for me.  I increased my fat, significantly! (growing up in the 80's instilled a fat phobia in me for sure), I cut out grains, dairy, sugar and literally came to life again with abundant energy and an excitement about the future.

In 2015 I had a calling, (well actually it was an email) to go to California to train as a Bulletproof Coach.  That weekend changed the trajectory of my life, I cannot even speak to how transformative this experience was for me.  I was introduced to the power of my heart center, before then I only ever knew how to use my head space.  I didn't even know there was any other way to live.  Learning to connect with others through the heart and listen from that space shifted my whole world. Rather than listening from my head ready to be the problem solver (or know it all) I learned how to be truly present with another.  It changed my relationship with my family and with myself, it manifested new friendships and partnerships in business and it so beautifully led me to Blissed.

I feel like I have lived several lives in my short 30 years on earth. I know it feels this way because the only real constant in life is change. In Buddhism this is called Anicca or impermanence. I also think it feels that way because I feel as through I am entering into another new Chapter in life.

I have lived most of my life in my masculine energy... addicted to doing,

Heraclitus once said, "the only constant is change".

Whether we notice it, want it or provoke it change is happening all the time. For many years I believe I was addicted to change. I wanted to transform my life,

I grew up in Cochrane Alberta but was always encouraged to travel and see the world. I have journeyed to 40 countries and have seen some absolutely amazing places. However our family acreage in Cochrane, which we call "The Field of Dreams" will always be home and . My husband and I now live in a Tiny Home, which we built after travelling for a year abroad. Prior to this trip, we sold all our things except the backpack we would bring on our journey. We wanted to stay minimal as we felt alive, light and free with less stuff weighing us down.

When I was 20, my father passed away in a ski accident. He played a huge role in encouraging me to travel, take risks and listen to that inner voice guiding me to be the best version of myself I could possibly be. After his death, it was and continues to be yoga that brings me peace. I can come to my mat each day to breathe, be present and connect to my own inner wisdom. My father's death is a driving force for the reason why I do what I do. Death teaches us just how unpredictable, precious and short life truly is. It taught me to LIVE.

My intentions both as a yoga instructor and human being on this earth are to foster community and create space for people to uncover and acknowledge their best selves. I believe that we all have something unique and special to offer our community to make us stronger, wiser and more connected.  We are all walking on this crazy and beautiful journey called life... let's do it together.

I am a 500 hour+ yoga certified instructor with training in both Canada and India. I have been teaching a variety of styles since 2012. I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts in International and Community Development and have over 8 years of social work experience. I believe that a sense of connection to our higher self and a connection to others is the key to a full and happy life!
